Becoming a foster carer
-
Once your application is received we will meet with you to discuss fostering options. We thank you for your interest in joining our family of foster carers - the need for care is so great and you CAN make a difference.
-
In the interest of your health and safety, please seek medical advice if you foresee or experience any health issues becoming a concern during your fostering duties e.g. allergies.
All property, cats, kittens and documentation remains the property of Dandy Cat Rescue. Please be aware, by signing this application, you agree to return all cats, kittens and items supplied to you by Dandy Cat Rescue back to the Rescue Group if you leave or are asked to leave, as follows:
All monies given to you for the purpose of Dandy Cat Rescue, (such as adoption fees and donations) are to be either transferred into the bank account of Dandy Cat Rescue or passed onto Carol Larter within one week of you ceasing to be a foster carer with Dandy Cat Rescue.
All assets belonging to Dandy Cat Rescue, such as cat carriers, crates, bedding, cat toys, litter trays, food and anything else given to you by the rescue group, will be returned to Dandy Cat Rescue or Carol Larter.
Failure to adhere to the above will result in legal action being taken to recover the items or monies.
You agree to provide the cats and kittens in your care with a hygienic living environment, the necessary treatments, vet care, food and other provisions as required or instructed by Dandy Cat Rescue.
If any of your fosters become unwell, you agree to notify Carol Larter or Melissa Mitchell immediately to seek instructions and advice.
All vet appointments and vet prescribed medications must be approved by Carol Larter or Melissa Mitchell prior to any vet booking being made or medications being dispensed.
You agree to adhere to the processes and guidelines that are in place for all foster carers. These will be provided to you in document form if your application is successful.
You agree that all information, paperwork, discussions and all other matters relating to Dandy Cat Rescue remain private and confidential within the rescue group and are not to be disclosed or shared with other parties outside the rescue group without prior permission from Dandy Cat Rescue.
To prevent cross-contamination and spread of potential diseases and conditions in cats and kittens, you agree that you will only work as a foster carer with Dandy Cat rescue and will not take in any cats or kittens from another rescue(s).
Becoming a foster carer can be one of the most rewarding experiences. Dandy Cat Rescue is always in need of short and long-term foster carers of:
adult cats
kittens (young and older)
pregnant cats
emergency short-term placement
medical fosters recovering from surgery/injury.
We would be happy to discuss what is involved before you make a decision, send an email to dandycatrescue@yahoo.com or send us a private message on Facebook or Instagram.
If you would like to join our team, fill in the foster carer application form and we will be in touch.
